Such is life, at times exciting and glorious
at times challenging, disconcerting and leading us into unknown areas
Psychotherapy is a process that facilitates people's healing and enables them to live
a fuller life, a 'life more abundant'.
Introduction
How we live, the choices we make, the relationships we entertain form the various threads of the living tapestry we constantly create and re-create and which represents who we are as a person. As life impacts on us daily, we develop means of coping and achieving by using the reliable methods we have experienced as usually 'working' for ourselves. However, at times, when the stress of living becomes too much, we can suffer such an added amount of pain and sadness that our regular ways of managing our life fail us and we are left feeling as if we have lost touch with who we are and how to cope.
As a Psychotherapist/Counsellor, I can offer you my support as you struggle with personal difficulties or trauma, as you come to terms with personal losses, or try to understand the source of blocks and fears. As you speak about yourself, even though thoughts or emotions may seem confused, I am trained to notice what is trying to emerge in your life and can help you regain a focus that is positive and strengthening of who you really are or want to become.
Part of my role as a Psychotherapist is also to try and bring to light what may have been so ignored in you that you undervalue your own potential for growth and change. Transpersonal Psychotherapy, which I practice, is not only a process of looking at what feels awkward and limiting. It includes very much all that is positive and strong in a person. Recognizing and fully embracing your qualities, strengths and aspirations, as well as being aware of what is limiting you, is important in order to gain a balanced view of yourselves. The process of therapy can help you understand facets of your personality, which may sometimes seem contradictory and irreconcilable causing you mental anxieties or troubled feelings. Therapy helps you get to know and harmonize the whole of who you are and, doing so, start to enjoy living a full and creative life.
In reality, each one of us is a tapestry of great beauty but
sometimes our beauty eludes us
because we are too enmeshed in one detail of design.
Psychotherapy helps you take that step back which enables an expanded view of the purpose and beauty of your life.
